Eighth Graders at Brookfield Middle School Learned How to Create Plastic Bag Mats
Amy Zell, from Hubbard Public Library, stopped by Mrs. Horn's eighth-grade class to teach students how to create plastic bag mats for the homeless.
The lesson is a part of the class' project-based learning on homelessness. Students have been researching homelessness throughout the grading period and incorporating what they discovered into their language arts lessons. It takes close to 500 plastic bags to complete one mat.
Mats of Love creates the mats every Tuesday afternoon at the Hubbard Public Library.
